[ Sent by messenger bird, a piece of thin-lined paper from a notebook in a makeshift envelope with just the name "Alvin" on the front.

The below is written in a simple handwriting (that looks like this and this), short and simple: ]

The arehtei went to sleep. People forgot the old teachings.
When the arehtei sleep they feel emotions and see visions of what's going on.
They're mirrors of the world. Guardians.
War broke out everywhere and the strong emotions woke up the arehtei (Elios did)
The "purge" happened
When the world isn't right, they destroy what's hurting the world. This was the humans.
The humans used something bad
Afterwards they existed for centuries uncleansed. Elios didn't know humans existed until he started hearing festivals
He came to Verens to destroy the humans
He's still haunted by nightmares

[He's actually going to be holding onto that bird when he gets the message, and it'll be the same one that returns to Red with a small note attached to its foot. Like Red's, the writing is a bit unique, but also uses characters so it might look a little similar.]

Thanks, Red. It might not look like much, but this is a lot I haven't heard about, like this "purge" business.

Not sure if you heard, but it looks like there's going be something like a town hall meeting at the Hearth. If you're going, you should tell everyone this.
