[ empatheias ] message box
Alvin will have acquired his own little carrier pigeon to send messages, so he'll have one stationed at the main carrier pigeon place that will come and find him.
In the meanwhile, this is the entry for any private messages that are delivered via the carrier pigeon system.

[Something may have suddenly splintered from his shock and quickly growing anger as he stands up.]
Jude, this is Rideaux. Why the hell would you give him a job?

It's because it's Rideaux. If I didn't, he'd probably start his own clinic somewhere and try to exploit people. At least this way I can keep an eye on him.
[...and then, he sounds just a little bit tired.] And... I need the help. There just aren't enough Otherworlders here with medical training. If nothing else he's a good doctor.

He stands for a moment, processing Jude's reasoning. In a way—it makes sense. That good ol' saying of keep your friends and enemies closer. Not that he's that thrilled about the situation, though, nor is he really ready to accept it.
There's still a bit of simmering before he runs a hand through his hair, taking a few steps, as if pacing in a half circle.]
Yeah, a "good doctor" ready to use people for his own needs. [Definitely bitter there. But then he sighs.] You really sure you can handle being his keeper, Jude? He'd probably try to take advantage and do something behind your back.

[....] I could really use backup, though.

Though I guess if he actually behaves then it won't be a problem.
If.

[But still. Not everything nasty Rideaux did was because of orders. In some ways it could be even more dangerous. They just don't know how he'll react being completely free of their influence.] I'll warn the nurses, at least.

Just let me know if he acts weirder than he usually does.
[And he may or may not say something to him anyway.]

Will do. And thank you again, Alvin.

No problem—thanks for giving me the heads up. And let's hope we don't have to do anything.
[Because he likes his life right now definitely doesn't want it to get screwed over.]
