Jude, this is Rideaux. Why the hell would you give him a job?

It's because it's Rideaux. If I didn't, he'd probably start his own clinic somewhere and try to exploit people. At least this way I can keep an eye on him.

He stands for a moment, processing Jude's reasoning. In a way—it makes sense. That good ol' saying of keep your friends and enemies closer. Not that he's that thrilled about the situation, though, nor is he really ready to accept it.

There's still a bit of simmering before he runs a hand through his hair, taking a few steps, as if pacing in a half circle.]

Yeah, a "good doctor" ready to use people for his own needs. [Definitely bitter there. But then he sighs.] You really sure you can handle being his keeper, Jude? He'd probably try to take advantage and do something behind your back.

They'd just be better able to since even though I'm volunteering, I'm busy myself. [Which...he doesn't mind, but with Rideaux around... Yeah.]

Though I guess if he actually behaves then it won't be a problem.

Hopefully without the Spirius Corporation, he won't have any reason not to.

[But still. Not everything nasty Rideaux did was because of orders. In some ways it could be even more dangerous. They just don't know how he'll react being completely free of their influence.] I'll warn the nurses, at least.

Good idea. [And then he has to think for a moment. Do they need to warn the public at large? But that just seems...too much and way too unnecessary. May also provoke him.]

[That would be too much, yeah. Rideaux is a horrible person, but he's not an active threat to the lives of anyone here. At least not while Jude can make sure he doesn't dole out any multi-million debts.]
