I'll see if I can talk to Elios and Peromei about the idea and send a letter to the other worlder rep about it too for some support. It was talking to her about helping everyone that made me think about this, and she's smart too.
Would a barrier be a bad idea for an emergency? It's not going to make an arehtei leave if all they want to do is destroy us but it might give people some time. But the city is big and you're going to need a big barrier and people who know what they're doing. I don't know how we're going to diffuse any influence coming from the arehtei. Doesn't our emotions connect us?
Have any of the arehtei hid anything before Thras and his city? I get why people are mad. I get why she would defend them too. Elios said Sosyne was sick when she came and attacked and a lot of the arehtei have been that way for a long time. But all the people in the city have had to suffer from that too, people who didn't even know about the arehtei until last year. Not everyone can help the arehtei directly but maybe they can find a different way to help people.
You can't protect or help anyone unless you know you have the strength to do it. People need help dealing with what happens.
